Hailpaw, in general, is very calm and poised. She spend her life trying to impress her mother in the hopes of getting just the least bit of attention from her, but in vain. This has left a big mark on her, leaving her craving for attention and praise. Hailpaw can't stand being ignored, and yet that's what has always happened. As a result, she has grown angry and spiteful towards a majority of felines in her life, and has begun pushing those around her away. After all, if no one ever cared, why would they suddenly care now? She sees it all as hypocrisy, and won't hear a word stating otherwise. She acts like she doesn't care, still, she craves the attention and praise she's always sought. The positive it left her with, is the ability to stay calm and composed in difficult situations, and a normally polite attitude.
Having a proper attitude, remaining poised, and not giving in to emotions -- are all values she upholds solely for herself, and stems from having grown up with neglectful parents. Hailpaw was never taught how to handle her emotions, only ever having seen how it bothered her mother. As such, she's learned to do nothing but bottle them up and keep them to herself, to the detriment of her mental health. She will never be caught crying, whining, disobeying or complaining. All she shows is poise and calm. She also hates getting dirty, and will never be seen with a dirty or unkempt pelt.
Extremely rigorous in her training, Hailpaw would go mad being unable to. She used to sneak out every morning (the only bit of disobedience she allowed herself) to practice her running. This paid off, as she was considered among the fastest of her clan. But this also means that Hailpaw is prone to pushing herself past her limits. She refuses to stop until she's the best, marking her as an over-worker. This can also be seen as perseverance, however.
Additionally to hate being ignored, Hailpaw likes to be in control. She can be bossy and headstrong, wanting to make clear what her thoughts are to the world if she believes them to be relevant. Although she rarely speaks out of turn, she begins the feel as though that may be the only way to get her voice heard. That being said, she hates being out of control nearly as much as being ignored. Feeling powerless and unable to manage a situation is her nightmare, and may be the only situation in which you can see her panic.
She isn't all bad, however. For all her thoughts and opinions, Hailpaw cares deeply for WindClan and simply wishes they'd do better, be more respectful. Deep down, she can be the caring and kind sister she once was, and learn to love again.
